Introduced by the DuPont Company in the 1930s, industrial neoprene is a versatile material designed to meet the demand for a chemical and outdoor resistant rubber material. While other artificial rubbers may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this neoprene rubber is designed to endure. Our sheet neoprene is actually a powerful synthetic elastomer compound made up of styrene butadiene rubber and chloroprene rubber to inherit the strengths of both sheet rubber materials. The result is a reliable and resilient neoprene with a sleek, black finish. Thanks to this mix of synthetic elastomers, the sheet neoprene has a moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. This hard neoprene has excellent abrasion resistance and works great in industrial and commercial applications. These neoprene sheets have a wide range of resistance thanks to the unique synthetic rubber compound that makes them up. The rubber neoprene has moderate resistance to substances that can easily degrade other kinds of synthetic rubber. Acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals are no match for this tough neoprene material, which also has great outdoor abilities. Our hard sheet rubber is available in 10 different gauges to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. This 1” neoprene is the thickest option available and works best in high-stress physical applications. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene hardness. This 1-inch thick rubber has a durometer of 70A to give it a very hard surface with minimal flexibility. The 70-durometer neoprene is stiff and works best in highly abrasive applications such as neoprene bumpers or pads. The thick rubber sheets can also be cut down and used to make neoprene seals, liners, gaskets. This versatile neoprene product is the perfect material for high-stress applications of any kind.
