Beguiled, (Paperback)

Beguiled This is my favorite series by Jody Hedlund, which is a difficult call, since all of her books are incredible! She has such a way with fantasy fiction, blending in medieval details that make you believe it could actually happen. I loved everything about this book, especially the characters! Pearl is a strong, intelligent, and resourceful woman, who happens to be a beautiful princess. Prince Mikkel is caring, brave, and kind, as well as being willing to change and grow as a person. The other characters were all so interesting that I would love to read more about them and their stories. I enjoyed the faith themes woven through the book. They felt organic, not forced or preachy. This is a true page turner, and I cannot say enough how amazing this book is! I cannot wait for the conclusion of this series!

I am loving The Fairest Maidens series! It is wonderful! I enjoyed every bit of Beguiled and did not want it to end. Once again, Jody Hedlunds writing captured me from the first line to the very last. Snow Whites story is retold in the thrilling, heart pounding, soul searching way that Jody Hedlund does so well. I was completely caught up in the suspense of the story and was shocked when I came to the end. The pages had absolutely flown by. Mikkel and Pearl are an enchanting hero/heroine duo and I absolutely loved their scenes together. I can't wait for Book Three! There are great lessons to be learned from this story. One of them being how important it is to appreciate and love people for who they are inside and not for their outward appearances. This is shown time and again. I think that is a very good lesson for anyone. I am looking forward to using this series with my daughters as a literary teaching tool. I recommend this book for anyone ages 14 and up.
