CANADA WEATHER GEAR Men's Parka Jacket I bought this to replace my current everyday winter coat. The Parka Jacket has a hood with a removable 'fur' strip. This is not a 'puffer coat' and may feel heavy to someone used to puffer coats and lighter filling. I contacted Canada Weather Gear directly about sizing. They advised by my chest size, I would be medium; but where I wear a tee shirt, a thermal shirt and a flannel shirt outdoors in the winter, they suggested sizing up to a Large. (Which I did and am pleased with the fit and sizing with the shirts I wear. The length of the coat extends down past my hips, but does not interfere or snag when sitting and turning in a car seat. I chose the brilliant red, as during wintertime with less sunlight and reduced visibility at times, I wanted a color that would stand out and not blend in. **Please Note** the hood is *NOT* removable; only the 'faux fur' trim on the hood is removable. The hood also does not have an adjustable tie string to snug it down, there is only a flap that is part of the hood that will fasted across the front of your neck to help keep it up over your head. There is a reflective thermal (Metallic) liner that reflects body heat and is perforated to allow some of the moisture to escape if you get too warm inside it due to your activity level or if you wear it indoors for too long. The wind has not worked it's way through to me yet and the sleeves have 'gathers' at the wrists to keep the sleeve centered and work to prevent wind from going up your sleeves. I find the price very reasonable, having seen the 'recommended retail price' on other sites. I expect to get many years of service out of this coat.
