Brita 26 oz Premium Plastic Filtered Water Bottle, Night Sky, Leak Proof, BPA Free with Straw

I bought this to bring along on a trip to Europe this summer but grabbed it now while Walmart had it at this price ($10.88, about half of Amazon's price at the time). It's looks and feel are premium. It is extremely well designed, with no real packaging other than the wrap the included carbon filter comes in, resting inside the bottle. Set-up and care Instructions were easy to understand -- READ THEM SO YOU PREPARE THE FILTER PROPERLY. Filter placement and removal is quite easy. Flip-up lid is very well designed, fits snugly, yet easy to open and close with no spills so far. The feel of the water coming up through the straw is different from, say, sipping a soda from a standard straw, but that's because you're pulling water through the filter before it gets up to your mouth. But still, it's quite easy to do and get used to. Surprisingly, the only thing I can't comment on is how much the filter improves the taste of the water, as our tap water is pretty good already. However, will be trying it when we go to other US locales to see how it does and may provide an update after. Assuming that it does (and I expect it will, given the quality of other Brita products), and proves tough enough not to easily crack, then I would definitely buy this again.

I absolutely love these bottles. I've had several of them actually. I'm from Flint, Michigan where we don't know what's in our water so these are a good idea but not just for people who live here really for people anywhere. The ability to go up to any tap and get water that's not only safe to drink but tastes great is a game changer. I recently discovered just how well the filter works when I went to a friend's house who had water that smelt like rotten eggs and you could tell from bathtub and other sink areas that their water was extremely hard by the mineral deposits and hard water stains on everything. well, I took some of the water from the tap that smelt like eggs and put it in my bottle after taking a sip. it tasted just like bottled water that you would buy from the store. honestly, it tasted as good as high-end bottled water, possibly because of the high mineral content. City, water and many areas has all of the minerals stripped right out of it that are really necessary to maintain good health. I highly recommend these bottles. they're not expensive and the ease of use is irreplaceable
