I wasn’t sure what to think of this cat scratcher when it first came. It’s cardboard and you can see right through it. I was sure this would be a flop. But I set it down in an area where my cat loves to scratch the walls and he immediately took to it. He loves to sharpen his claws on this scratcher. It makes a loud sound that the dogs don’t like, but I like that it’s saving the paint on my walls. It did come with catnip, but I didn’t know what to do with it since it’s open and did not want to sprinkle catnip on it for it to fall right through to my floor. So I left the catnip off and the cat still loves it. Sometimes he just lays on it! My cat loves it.

This corrugated (cardboard) cat scratcher is 18" long and 5" wide. My four year old cat, Gizmo, went to it immediately and started scratching even though he had never seen one of these before, and it didn't even have catnip on it. The scratcher comes with a small bag of catnip which makes it even more fun and interesting for you and your cat. Both sides can be used and it is labeled as heavy duty, so just flip it over when the first side is clawed up. A great deterrent to furniture scratching.
