Good Brush, Love the Side Bristles
*Mainstays 20 inch Deluxe Swimming Pool Brush* It's that time of year again when I need to replace my old pool equipment that wore out from the previous years of hard use. I decided to get a new Pool Brush and selected Mainstays 20 inch Deluxe Swimming Pool Brush. I liked the look of the raised bristles on both edges and that the bristles were sturdy plastic versus steel so that it would not damage my liner. Another plus about this particular type of brush is that I have bought one before, and it was a good brush that lasted more than one season. Many brushes I had used have not lasted an entire season and shed its bristles during cleaning the pool. *Cleaning With My Brush* I like to brush in long strokes along the bottom and make sure not to miss any single spot. The 18” part of the brush is enough for this long stroke and can help scrub any algae or debris. The side rounded bristles are for the rounded corners of my pool where the regular bristles cannot quite reach. These are perfect for hard to reach places like the corners or where the bottom and the sides meet. I use shorter strokes for the sides and make sure that the corners get the best use of the edges of the pool brush. Compared to other brushes, I think it removes growing algae much easier and faster. With use in conjunction with weekly Chlorine shocking depending on how much sunlight vs rain and debris or other contaminants is how often one needs to brush. I always like to brush at least once a week, but sometimes it's relaxing so I might brush twice a week. *Attachment to Telescoping Pole* The Mainstay 20 inch Deluxe Swimming Pool Brush easily attaches to most standard telescopic poles. If yours is a standard pole, it should fit. *Conclusion* I have found that the Mainstay 20 inch Deluxe Swimming Pool Brush works well at scrubbing my above ground 12' x 16' pool, and I am a repeat buyer. The brush is fairly durable for constant seasonal usage and strong chlorine exposure. The curved side bristles make cleaning the curved sides of the pool easier, and I only want a brush with this feature.
It is a nylon brush, medium stiff.
The brush is 20 inch wide and the mylon fiber is medium stiff. The angle of the fiber is 45 degree on side and would touch base and the corners when cleaning. The connector is designed for its tele pole and my regular pole would work if holes be drilled on it and locked by pins.
Great Wall Brush
Perfect brush for giving the old pool a great scrubbing in areas the vacuum won't reach. Bristles are sturdy and get the job done efficiently. Attaches easy to my pole and with elbow grease I get the pool grime free right before I treat it. Would definitely recommend.
