Incorporating XGM (eXpanded Glass Aspherical) lens elements with the AX (anti-reflective eXpand) coating reduces ghosting and flare more thoroughly than ever before. The Dual MPR (micro-processing unit) gives this lens the ultimate AF and image stabilization performance. It can connect to the Tamron Tap-In Console, which connects your lens via USB to your PC so you can stay up to date in firmware improvements or to customize your AF settings.

Superior Optical Performance

This Tamron 15-30mm lens has an impressive construction with 18 lens elements in 13 groups, including the XGM elements and multiple LD (low dispersion) lens elements to minimize distortion and lateral chromatic aberrations. Newly developed AX Coating was designed to control harmful rays that negatively impact image quality. This lens coating keeps the reflection factor at the same level for both the peripheral of the lens as well as the center area to overcome the problems normally associated with convex lenses with large curvatures. The addition of the eBand (Extended Bandwidth and Angular-Dependency) coating which utilizes nanotechnology and the BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating, this lens provides 3 different types of lens coating to give you consistently exceptional image quality from edge to edge.
