Forgiveness

This read quickly became a page turner, and a story about lobster boats, well, actually it is much more than that. The pain and ridicule of the sins of a father, Oliver endured this, and his acting out in his hurt affected a young girl and her science project. Fast forward and now Meg's father wants to sell his lobster business to this guy that wrecked her future, or did he? Now Meg is willing to do anything to get her father to give her the business, including enduring sea sickness, good thing there are now patches. We are there to see her as she takes on the job of running the boat, using her unknown muscles, and learning from her nemesis! There are surprises revealed, so keep page turning, and enjoying, and I am excited there is another book coming! I received this book through the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

An enjoyable book!

This was an interesting story of two people who have hard feelings towards one another due to an event that happened in high school. When Meg's father decides to sell the family business, Meg hears of her father planning to sell it to the one person she can't stand, Oliver Ross. As the book continues, a contest to see who buys the fishing business, brings Meg together with Oliver and they have to work together for a season in a contest to see who will be chosen as the new owner. There are lots of ups and downs in the both the lives of the two trying to be the one chosen and in the business itself. They go through personal growth as they learn of one another's lives and past that brought them to this point. And Meg gives up her position at school as a teacher to work on the fishing boat. I enjoyed the story and thought it was interesting and set in a beautiful place. I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishers. All thoughts are my own.

A Good Fish Story!

Ten years ago, Oliver ruined Meg's chance for a scholarship when he destroyed her high school science project. Ever since, Meg has held a grudge, and can't stand him. Today, her dad surprised her by saying he is getting rid of the family fishing business. Her dad wants to devote himself to her mother who has a terminal disease. Despite being able to get a lot of money for the business, Meg can't believe her ears that he plans to sell it to Oliver, and cheaply. Meg is so upset that she says she wants the business. This is regardless of her lack of fishing knowledge, or that she is given to horrible seasickness, and she will have to give up teaching to have the business. Her dad says Meg and Oliver must work together during the upcoming season. Their performance will determine who gets it. The following weeks are backbreaking and difficult. Then things start happening: their lobster traps are stolen; someone sabotages a vital instrument. Who is trying to cripple them? Is Oliver looking to get the business just so he can re-sell it at a huge profit? Meg can barely handle her mom's deterioration, is there a better way to get through it? This tale is full of family love despite hardships, discovering that learning the whole story can change your viewpoint, and romance. The culprit behind the boat vandalism is a surprise. This clean, five-star book is told from a Christian viewpoint, and will be enjoyed by fans of sweet stories whose characters succeed even through difficulties! Revell Publishing has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, Beyond the Tides, for the purpose of review.
