Two Times Failed Return Attempts

On Sunday, Feb 4 at around 330pm, I decided I will create the return of my items online in front of your Walmart Store at Fort Dodge, as they didn't fit the faucets I needed replaced. Since I have opened one of my two packages, I opted to return the opened package at the store and the unopened one for pick up. I showed the return clerk the bar code for the opened return and was told that this purchase couldn't be completed because it had to be returned directly to the third party vendor. I am an oldish (69 year old man) and rarely get irritated. I accepted the clerk's advice and proceeded to do my grocery shopping. I do all my shopping at Walmart. I didn't complain and took the clerk's advice. However, when I reached home, I saw that I had received a text message apologizing for the inconvenience and suggested I return the item back to the store. Monday, the return pick up arrived and took my wrapped item with the printed label. I thought that since I am surely going to be back to the store to do groceries, I would do the return when I needed to. Today, Feb 9, I went to the store with my unopened item that was to be returned. Showed the clerk the bar code and was immediately told the same reason why it couldn't be completed. I kept my patience and a lead clerk arrived to help me. She requested for my phone with the Walmart app and started figuring out what was wrong. She even sent me an email to further her research to help me get the item returned and processed. I mentioned to her that I was at the store on Sunday and that I failed to get it returned, wanted to show her the text message apology suggesting I go back to the store to get the return completed but she didn't want to see it. I told her there was a link on the text message that could perhaps help us out. But she ignored me. A younger clerk arrived and this lead asked him to help us. This has already eaten up at least 20 minutes of my time and this new guy was unable to get it done. The lead clerk even opened the unopened package and scanned the item itself. Nothing worked. She told me to have this now opened package and get it picked up the same way the other one was returned. I told her to help me get this done and she did hesitatingly. I told her that I was just following instructions and somehow I think I needed to be compensated for this awful experience that was now brewing to be disastrous. I kept my composure when the lead clerk suddenly wanted to leave and leave me breathless and unattended. She was so insensitive and so unempathetic. She didn't even apologize for the inconvenience I was experiencing and that this has now been the second time that I had to do this to return. Two times I failed and now I have to wait for the pick up on Monday the whole day. What an inconvenience. I have to tell you this to get an insight as to how you could probably fix your system and not having your customer go through the same experience. How hard could it be to return something? Please look into this. The apologetic text messages that you send can't appease anyone if this continues. Just an FYI - I received a text message apologizing for this again and advising me to go back to the store to complete the return. Duh!
