A beautiful and haunting tale of jealousy and love

"It's a story about a young girl who sees something she doesn't understand; but she thinks she does," says the main character. This is the foundation of what "Atonement" is all about, but this does not begin to scratch the surface of what this beautiful film is about. When you get down to the nitty-gritty, "Atonement" is a story about love, betrayal, jealousy, lies, war, peace of mind, and above all: atonement. The film has gorgeous cinematography, an epic story, heartfelt characters, beautiful actors and it is wonderful food for thought. Very highly recommended.
