She thought a move to America would be an escape from these secrets, but she discovered it was all coming with her anyway. In a sudden revelation, she then embarked on a grueling, dark, and lengthy journey into sobriety, individual and group therapy, and self-discovery wherefrom she learned to form new relationships – both good and bad – and none more important than the one she forged with herself and a higher power.
