Made cheaply but okay for 3 year old
I bought this machine for my three-year-old granddaughter for Christmas. It worked out to be okay for her. Her bigger sister was also getting a nicer machine and she needed something to call her own. This machine only has the top thread therefore it constantly gets jammed. It does have a finger protector that goes around the needle which is nice. However when the thread gets jammed you can't re-thread the needle very easily. So we ended up just leaving the thread out and my three-year-old granddaughter had fun just running the material through the machine without any thread. She thought she was sewing. So the sound of the machine going and her pressing a little pedal to make it go was satisfying for her so she had a good time with it. The length of the pedal does not go to the floor it's just a bout 18 inches and they have to use their hand to push it and then also feed the material through the machine at the same time. It runs on batteries. I bought another machine for my older granddaughter for the same price and it was very well-made and did 13 stitches. This one is made cheaply and is kind of chintzy however for three year old it worked just fine.
