This thing is huge. Not bad for the gents -- they don't have to stoop as far to reach their mail. The slots are big enough for them to get their hands into as well. It's wire, so you can see through it and tell at a glance whether you've got mail to begin with. That's a definite pro for our office. It comes with plastic label holders that can be clipped to the front.
However, those clips can't be placed underneath the mail slots -- they have to be put on the side. The bottom of each slot is concave, so putting the label there makes it illegible when anything is placed in the slots. Also, the labels provided can't be printed on because they come as tiny strips of paper instead of a single, perforated sheet. The paper is flimsy, too -- it's not a very thick cardstock. We got around this by sticking our Brother label maker printouts to the strips instead.
Oddly enough, we were provided with multiple replacement clips, but the strips of paper for them was limited to almost exactly the number of slots there are. The size is very specific -- it would be a pain to cut more out if you make a mistake on one. Even the originals are slightly too small, and slide out of the clips easily. Keep that in mind if you need to adjust the sorter's location post-setup.
This sorter is a single, solid piece of metal. That means picking it up and moving it around is easy, but finding a space for it may not be. The solid black matte finish should match the décor of any office. If privacy is a concern, be advised that there's no lid -- the top of this sorter is open, and it's easy to see documentation through the mesh (including the sides). The mesh dents easily.
In summary, I would recommend the Scranton and Co Mail Sorter in Black for purchase, but would advise the buyer to be ready to make some adjustments to his/her workspace in order to make it fit, and be willing to make other arrangements for labeling.
