Advanced Optics

The Sony Alpha 24mm f/1.4 lens is constructed of 13 lens elements in 10 groups, including two XA (extreme aspherical) elements that effectively eliminating sagittal flare, and three ED (extra-low dispersion) elements to suppress ugly chromatic aberrations. An 11-blade circular aperture enhances soft, natural looking bokeh through an advanced design that takes advantage and control of certain spherical aberrations. This wide angle lens is close-up capable, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.79 feet (0.24 m) and maximum magnification of 0.17x to produce a wide array of dramatic perspectives.
