workable, but buy gauze or have cloth swatches

i want to be as fair as possible. the gloves themselves are very well made, the heating elements are sturdy, and certainly get hot. the problem is there is no layer between the heat and your skin. i tried placing gauze, but i when it slipped i got a burn on my palm, see below. i would go ahead and buy them if you're willing to add several layers of gauze to protect yourself.
