Nice quality brush, it is soft yet durable to brush the fur keeping it cleaner for your cat. I don't use it to brush mats that hurts but I use a pet shaver for the mats and use this brush to clean my cats fur helping prevent hairballs and to prevent mats and knots. She likes the brush and she looks much cleaner. I recommend this brush if your pet has smooth fur. I brush her gentle to moderate, you don't want to dig in too much.
