This rug is beautiful. It's chunky but soft. It adds that casual look to my bedroom that I was looking for.The darker color is a cool brown or maybe a dark taupe, not red at all. It compliments my bed skirt from Soft Surroundings which was my hope.The fringe is thick and lays flat except for the end on the roll.I used a heat setting on my hair dryer that flattened it out. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
