This throttle cable includes oversize stainless wire, Teflon liner, and bolt-type adjustable tension. Most after market cables are smaller and contain poly liners that wear quickly. Most after market cables also do not have adjustable friction couplings to withstand the high governor forces on Kawasaki engines.

When installing the cable, set it so that there is approximately a 1/4" gap between the lever and the end of the slot. This will allow the throttle to sustain full engine speed as the cable liner breaks in and shrinks. Check the tension of the throttle lever WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. If the throttle drops with as little as 3-5 lbs, tighten the friction nut on the throttle lever.
