Wycliffe Brothers 23-inch Backgammon Set with 1.75-inch Nickel Checkers - Black Case with Green Field - Prestige Class

I love the colors (green field, black and red points) of this set first of all, and the felt like material of the field is luxurious and a pleasure to play on. The checkers are every bit as good as the photos if not even better, and they have a great heft to them and they slide effortlessly across the board. The doubling cube is fantastic, I wish my other set had such a large cube, and I did manage to pick up some casino grade dice for this set, but afterword discovered that this set already comes with semi-precision dice, so that may not have been necessary. The set is large, and worth more than the price I paid it for. I will pass this set down as one of my heirloom classical games someday, including a $700 hardwood chess set and a Japanese Hon Kaya Goban with slate and shell stones. Like those, this backgammon set is an heirloom piece.

This board stands out from any other in my backgammon club. It draws attention with class and distinction . Everyone who sees this board knows it's first class. This is definitely worth the price. I'm so happy with my purchase and I love the nickel checkers and color combination.
