NET PLAYZ Smart Pro Baseball Speed Radar is a precision training instrument designed for baseball coaches and players who need accurate speed measurement for pitching and hitting practice. Equipped with advanced radar technology, it measures speeds from 3 to 150 mph (5 to 199 kph). For best accuracy, ensure the ball flight passes within the optimal measurement zone, approximately 20–50 ft from the radar, or position the radar about 45° beside the batter when measuring swing motion. This range provides the most stable, precise, and repeatable readings when the motion passes directly through the radar’s detection area.
Placement is critical for precise readings. During solo pitching drills, position the radar behind the pitching net, facing the ball’s direction of travel. In pitching drills with a catcher, place it in front of the pitcher, aligned with the throwing path. For hitting drills, set it at about 45 degrees to the side of the batter, aimed toward the swing direction. When properly aligned, the radar delivers accuracy comparable to top-tier professional sports systems, providing reliable and repeatable results.
Unlike traditional gun-style radars that require a second person to operate, the Smart Pro allows true solo use. Simply mount it on the included tripod, align it, and start training immediately. The hands-free setup ensures consistent measurement and helps players focus entirely on their drills, ideal for both individual and team practice sessions.
An exclusive voice announcement feature broadcasts every speed reading in real time, allowing uninterrupted solo training. This feature is unique to NET PLAYZ and is especially helpful when visibility is limited or when players are not wearing glasses. The data logging system automatically records the last ten pitch or swing speeds for quick recall and comparison, providing data-driven insights to support steady performance improvement.
The large 4.7" × 2.4" LED display features bright red digits that remain clearly visible in both daylight and low-light conditions, outperforming standard sports radars that typically use smaller 1.2"–4.3" displays. In addition to baseball, the radar also detects speeds in soccer, hockey, tennis, and lacrosse, making it a versatile training tool across multiple sports.
Each unit includes an aluminum alloy tuning fork and silicone hammer for calibration, a tripod for stable setup, and a protective carrying case for convenient transport and storage.
