Beautiful table but could rust without proper care

This is a very nice end table. Well made and fits nicely beside a chair without taking up a lot of space. My only concern is that it will rust. I contacted the company that makes this table and was told not to get it wet, don't leave it outdoors or in a humid location to prevent rust. I placed a silicone pad on top to protect it from moisture. So far so good.
