Drains batteries and doors open when traveling

I have had this refrigerator for about 8 months now. It has destroyed one set of batteries, because it requires about 150 amp/hrs. per day in the summer. Also the locking device intended to hold the doors closed when traveling allow the doors to open as much as 1/2 in. and has totally failed twice throwing food and shelves onto the floor damaging other finishes.
