How can I give something back? It is a question I asked myself when I turned to teaching as a career three decades ago. Perhaps I asked myself that question, or one like it, when I was in chok, thinking of my uncle, confined to his wheelchair, and deciding to buy him pakoras. Or even earlier, as a still smaller child, trying to get a hot chocolate from the vending machine to one or two of the girls on the side-lines and prevented from playing in the swimming pool.
