Does not fit E36 - too wide!

This clearly claims it fits E36. My fireplace model stamp is very clear and has E36. However, these doors DO NOT FIT. Each half is about 1/4" too wide so I can't close them. I had to put the old ones back on. I then held up a new panel against an old one and easily saw that it's too wide. I found another brand on the smiling box shopping site and bought those instead. These are being returned.
