The village derived its name from an early pioneering group of Amish folk, who suddenly left their farms and homes unexpectedly and without a trace in the late 1800s. Eventually the village was rebuilt within the mist of dark rumors and speculation. Andreas, a retired school psychologist, husband, father and grandfather spends his time collecting old beer steins and digging ever deeper into his German family heritage.
