Great for a small family

I was concerned about the negative reviews, so I avoided this product at first, but a plumber for my building recommended it, so I took another look. He said he had already helped install three of them in my condo complex and had received positive feedback about them! I am very happy with the machine's "communication skills" - I don't really use the app at all, but I might someday if I need the laundry done ASAP. I use the wash and dry cycle for my towels and tough items, and usually use the bulky cycle for my more delicate ones. The machine alerts me when it is time to clean the tub, which I find very helpful. I have two drying racks I use to save energy and keep delicates safe. I live alone (with two cats, too!) so the capacity is sufficient for my needs. The noise is about as loud as my dishwasher. I might turn the signal alarm volume down or silence it, as I find the melody a little annoying, but otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase. I am very impressed that a machine can both wash and dry. I use compostible wipes to clean off the lint around the door when it gathers, and I have not had any trouble with clogs. I am happy to be using less gas every month! Thank you, LG!

will this work?

I owned the 2006 version of this unit - lasted 18 year! At the time it came with a portability kit (4 casters and snap on kitchen faucet thing.) I need to replace it and this looks like it could be the one! I have an extra portability kit and wonder if there's any reason this unit would not work to replace my old LG WM3431HW?

Hi, Jack! We appreciate you sharing the long run you got from your 2006 LG Washer—18 years is truly impressive, and it’s great to hear you’re looking at another LG washer as its replacement. Keeping your original portability kit was a smart move, and many customers enjoy the flexibility those kits provide! Most modern LG washer models are designed differently from the older WM3431HW, so compatibility can vary depending on the mounting points and water‑connection layout. To help you compare specifications and ensure the portability kit will work with the newer unit you’re considering. For more feedback or questions, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. Thanks for choosing LG! #LifesGood ^James

Takes a big load for such a small drum

just installed this under our kitchen counter for me and my husband and I put it on 3/8 hoses tapped off our sink inlets and have it draining into our sink also, and it's working perfectly. We did the initial test load of 6 heavy towels, and then did an actual wash and dry load (test wash is only rinse and spin), and they came out super dry. The time for the next load of normal clothes was about 3 hours and it took almost the same amount we would put in our old washer. It's also crazy how quiet this thing is, especially on the dry cycles, since it uses a condenser instead of a normal electric or gas heater.

That's awesome to hear! It sounds like your new under-counter washer/dryer is a perfect fit. It's really impressive that such a compact unit can handle 6 heavy towels and get them so dry. Plus, fitting a normal load of clothes in about the same time as your old washer is a huge win. We're also glad to hear how quiet it is, especially during the dry cycles, thanks to that condenser. Enjoy your efficient new laundry setup! ^ Diego
