Runs very small/very short in length

These shirts are super short. The reason I looked them up is because I thought maybe I accidentally bought a girls crop top. My 8 year old son wears an 8 in just about every brand, most of his size 6/7 shirts even still fit. But this shirt is WAY too small and extremely short. If I looked at it without knowing the size I'd think they were maybe a size 6. They would fit my 4 year old better than my 8 year old. I've attached a picture comparing this shirt to a size 8 old navy shirt
