Yes the liner is smaller than it needs to be but i dont have a problem with it, I slip and extra bottle of tylenol down there and its out of the way or even an extra water bottle. It is indeed smaller than the picture lead you to believe. If you are looking for something to carry your laptop or larger tablet in this isnt for you, but i can comfortably throw my notebook for work and kindle in with no problem.
