Product details

iCrimp PEX EXPANSION RING WITH STOP(PROPEX STYLE)
iCrimp expansion rings are used to join PEX-A pipe and F-1960 expansion fittings. Expansion sleeves are engineered with a bevel along the leading edge to ease pipe insertion and an integrated stop to ensure proper placement of the sleeve.
F1960 PEX Expansion
Known as cold expansion, conforms to the ASTM F1960 standard specification and uses a PEX expansion ring and a fitting with a larger internal diameter to make a connection.

Applications
Expander fittings for PEX are commonly used with residential cold and hot water supply lines, radiant heat and cooling systems, fire suppression systems and ice melting systems.

Elements to Consider
Sunlight: PPSU and polymer fittings, PEX pipe and reinforcing rings should be protected from UV exposure.
Glue/Primers/Chemicals: PPSU and polymer fittings should be protected from harmful chemical exposure.
Flame: PPSU and polymer fittings should be at least 18" from any soldering.

Quick Guide
Square cut the PEX-a tubing. Remove excess material. Slide the expansion ring over the end of the tubing (maximum 1 /16" over-hang). When using the expansion sleeve with stop edge, slide the ring on (i.e., chamfered edge first) until the end of the tubing contacts the stop edge. Expand tubing and ring. Rotate tool a quarter turn after each expansion to prevent the formation of grooves. Remove the expansion tool and fully seat the tubing and ring against the shoulder of the fitting.

Connection Precautions
If the fitting does not go into the expanded pipe all the way to the fitting shoulder, immediately remove the fitting and expand the pipe one more cycle.
Avoid over expanding the pipe by holding it in the expanded position on the tool.
If there is more than 1/16" between the pipe stops on the fitting and the end of the reinforcing ring, the connection should be cut out and replaced.
When cutting out an Expansion PEX connection, it is important to cut the pipe at least 2" away from the fitting so that you start with unexpanded pipe for the next connection.
Always replace the expansion ring when redoing a connection.
