Although I thoroughly enjoyed Rhonda Starnes's previous book, Rocky Mountain Revenge, this one was much more my style! Romance with an amnesiac is a trope that can sometimes be over-the-top and implausible, but Mrs. Starnes did it justice here. It stayed interesting, was not overplayed, and unfolded nicely and in good time. The action scenes were so fun, plenty of narrow misses! I loved the creativity with which the author got characters out of sticky situations, like the attic scene (you'll know the one when you read it!). Trying to figure out the baddie was an adventure for sure. (Side note: I did guess correctly pretty early on, probably just due to my own impressive ability to pick up on tiny details and be a whole entire detective, but the author did have me second-guessing myself for a hot minute. ;)) The slowish romantic build-up between Randy and Katherine was sweet; I especially loved reading the way Randy thought of Katherine when he didn't truly remember who she was. These two were so easy to cheer on! Also, it's not necessary to read her previous book to understand this one, but the mentions of previous book characters were really neat inclusions. All in all, this book was a really fun read. Well-written and well-edited. Definitely pick this one up and give it a shot!
