TIRE GUY was impressed. Balanced to ZERO

These tires look great. Put 245/65/17 on a Bronco Sport and they really improved the look. Not an overly aggressive tire, but much more so, than the Continentals that came off the vehicle from factory. The Tire guy said they balanced perfect to zero, with little weight. I was surprised by that a bit. This is the wife's vehicle and she went out and drove at length and said they are a bit louder than the Continentals, but again the tread is so much different and I forewarned her. But she said they ride really nice, feel very stable and had no vibrations. Time will tell on treadwear and winter is on it's way, so we will see how they do in the snow, but they appear that they will do quite well. Don't hesitate to buy these tires. I remember this brand from way back, in the day, not to age myself.

Decent tire for the price

Pretty good tire for the price but these tires are not nearly as aggressive as I was hoping for, nor expecting being an AT tire. Reminds me more of a fancy street tire. These tires make very little noise. With a noise rating of 3, I was expecting a lot more noise. The last set of tires (different brand) had a noise rating of 5 and were a lot louder on the highway. I was generally disappointed by the lack of noise (the entire purpose I went with these tires was because of the noise rating of 3, lol).

A far better tire than I expected!

I've been running C**per Discoverer AT3's for a decade on my 2006 Ridgeline, but they've been redesigned, and they new design wears very unevenly in the shoulder block area, so I decided to try something different. Seeing that Armstrong is back (I'm an old Armstrong Treadlock tire owner from back in the 80's), I thought I'd give them a try. Street performance, wet and dry, is excellent. There's a tiny bit of AT tire hum, less than expected, and at a much lower frequency than my C**pers. The ride comfort is actually a little better. They did very well in sand (up to maybe 3 - 4 inches deep) with marginal steering fight. And in a water crossing with a mud/sand/clay bottom (hard, but slippery) they did better than the C**pers - I think I'd have gotten stuck in one of the holes on the old tires, especially since we got a little hung up on an underwater object (probably a stump or rock). All testing so far was at normal street pressure (35PSI), as I wanted to see how my Ridgeline would perform in an evolving situation, where I might have to do some light off roading with no notice. The actual tread width is a little less than the C**pers, but that doesn't seem to be a negative - the sidewalls balloon out a bit more, so that the overall width is the same, and that shape may actually enhance steering in sand and mud. Overall, I'd say these may be the best value on the market today - not just for AT tires, but across their entire lineup. If they made tires for autocrossing, I'd try those next!
