They work with charging
A lot of newer electronic devices that are rechargeable use usb-c cables with more frequency these days. These adapters allow you to use the charging cables with older usb-a charging plugs, etc. I use one with a clock radio that I plug my phone into to charge at night. The thing that sets these apart is that they can be used to charge devices. Unless specified, others don't have that feature.
