This is a really reliable and accurate meter. It appears very well built to last a long time compared to the products that are out there for a third the price. It is a little pricey, but you're getting quality.

We received the Kinsa QuickCare Smart Thermometer from Stellar Product Testing Panel right before our baby came down with his first major cold. We put it through some heavy use, and it really shined. We tested it against our old tried and true drug store thermometer, and it gave back the same readings but so much quicker. Speed is definitely a huge plus when you are dealing with a wiggling cranky baby. The stem of the thermometer is soft and flexible, which really helped us since we primarily take underarm temperatures. At first I wasn't a big fan of the app, but I was quickly won over. It's unobtrusive and provides great feedback about the temperature readings. It was easy to log in, and even asked if I wanted to save readings I took when it wasn't open. Perfect for middle of the night temperature readings when everyone was groggy. It helped me keep detailed notes of my baby's progress for when we saw the doctor. I think my favorite feature would be the personalized recommendations that came from every reading. We started at a low grade temp, and it climbed steadily for a few days. The app sent an email with recommendations on what threshold we should be reaching out for medical help, and after how many days. It pushed us to get help earlier, and we were able to catch an ear infection at the earliest stages and get our baby on proper meds early. This thermometer is now our go to for any temperature taking needs.
