Solid. Assembly requires 2 people

Assembly took 3.5 hours to do alone. The next-to final step of getting all of the tabs of the frame, the backboard and arms to all line up, and get them pushed in was very difficult. I wound up pressing it up against the wall to finish. It was heavy and I was exhausted after wrestling with this. Funny enough the manufacturer is Kodiak furniture. I felt like I had wrestled a Kodiak! Finished bed feels solid, and is exactly as you would expect. As a 'couch', keep in mind how many cushions it will take to create a proper 'seat depth' where you can rest your back. A twin mattress is 40" wide, and couch seat depth is maybe as much as 26". Anyway, now it's assembled, it was what I wanted. A solid bed, with headboard footboard and a side board, so that pillows and blankets don't wind up on the floor. Oh - I'll mention it's held together with tension bolts, which is good. There are a few wood screws. Getting them into the pilot holes was a bit of a pain. The wood feels strong. the finish feels alright.
