A Great Laptop that's to good to pass up!

What stands out for me is the Ryzen 5 CPU w/Vega 8 graphics, the Licorice Black color, and the number pad on the keyboard. After I opened the box and configured Windows 10 Home, this Dell laptop did not run bad at all. Yes, it was a little slower than usual because of the regular SATA hard drive, but this is what I paid for, knowing that this would change after I make a couple of upgrades to this machine. I've seen the bad reviews for this laptop and I think some people don't understand what they were buying here. Without upgrading the memory to at least 8GB and the hard drive to a SSD drive/M.22 SSD drive, they're just going to have a laptop not running at it's full potential. Like the specifications say; this laptop only has 4GB of memory and it came with a 1TB SATA Hard Drive. So far, I just replaced the hard drive, for a Sandisk SSD Ultra and this thing is moving along quite well. Browsing the web, is very smooth, boot-up is quick, apps start quickly as well. People have to remember that upgrading Windows 10 and other apps, etc., is very important for a smooth running machine. This laptop came with Win10 version 1803 I believe which needed to be updated. I since upgraded to version 1903 which is what's current right now. So this will take a couple of days as the updates are available to you. Keep going back and look for them. I gave this laptop 5 Stars because the price and some of the specifications which out weighed the negatives of the SATA hard drive and the 4GB of memory that came with it. This is an everyday use computer. I'm not using this for gaming. I would like to Thank Walmart for providing this laptop at this price. Appreciate it!

Needed some upgrades.

Actually worked out very well. To make this computer workable, I replaced the regular hard drive with a 1TB ssd, replaced the 4gb ram stick with a matching set of 4gb memory cards (8gb in total) and now the computer is super. Replaced the Windows 10 that came with the computer with a clean version without the “bloat ware” by using the media maker function. Now, the computer loads up in less than 10 seconds. The back cover of the computer comes off pretty easily and made the upgrades very easy to do.

great computer but needs 2 upgrades

great computer every worked right of the box came with 64% battery life got connected turned Cortana first. uninstalled the bloatware wasn't alot mainly just remove McAfee and just use windows defender its good enough doesn't hurt your computer performance like other programs do. computer cpu is fast wifi is fast i was getting everything that modem speed gives me which is 105mb down and 10.5mb up across the house as this is going to be my mom new computer yeah got for her for Christmas great price $399. now for what needs to be perfect it only comes with 4gb of ddr4 2400mhz this needs to be upgraded to atleast 8gb but not big problem as of today another 4gb of ram is only $32 not a big deal 16gb would be better but she not going to be gaming and she coming from 2010 Intel netbook which was slow in 2010. ok number 2 this has 1tb 5400 hard drive it is slow yes it works but slow this computer needs a fast sdd and yes this computer has a m.2 drive which you can put really fast ssd in. you can replace the current hdd which a 2.5in ssd like Samsung 860 evo for as of this morning $127. today is 11/19/2018. and just these updates would make this a powerhouse system. and cheaper than if you tryed to look for a system that had the same inside you cant most computers with 4 more gb everything else the same is over $150 more. if i could build a labtop like but desktops i would be this next best thing. this computer has no dvd drive just let you know that i know some pics were not sure about it. great computer but it needs 2 upgrades to be perfect.
