Brickman cursed his parents for his name, and with good reason. Entering his first year of high school, Brickman stood just over five feet tall and weighed less than 90 pounds. One of the smallest kids in his year, his large than life name was big enough to make him a target for every bully in school.

High school became a daily test for survival. With no friends and no hope for the future, each bell that sounded to announce the end of a class period signaled a six minute gauntlet to some how arrive at the safety of his next class turning the school days into a never ending cycle of day in and day out torture.

This book is based on actual events in the life of Brickman Allen. His story of longing for acceptance is a vulnerable sharing of how he felt invisible and lost, struggled with depression, and was incapable of seeing a single good attribute in himself. During his high school years, Brickman walked a dark path.

The Bully Guard is his story and in these pages are found the insights and strategy that helped him overcame all that tore him down and to ultimately find that not only was he someone who should not give up on life, but that he was worthy of the title "friend".
