ALTRA Women's Escalante 2 Road Running Shoe, Black, 8 B(M) US

hi! I love these shoes! And I disagree with many of the negative reviews for these shoes. They're incredibly lighter than my previous brooks running shoes and they are soft and easy to run in. That being said, I did not have a pair of the previous version, so I cannot compact it to those. But, compared to my brooks, they're heaven. When they came in the mail, I tried them on and they felt so amazing, I ran around the block a couple times just to see how it felt... and it felt amazing. My only gripe is they come untied sort of easy, but maybe I'm just bad at tying knots. And the tongue rubbed my foot for the first several runs, but that now seems to be broken in. The toe box is amazing. I have wide feet and have struggled with finding running shoes that are comfortable. These and Topo's wide toe box have been my absolute favorite. If you are hesitant because of the shape, don't be!

I came back to by my second pair of escalante 2.0s and was surprised by the reviews-I actually really like redesign. I especially think that the interior of the shoe will be more durable. I've lost count of how many pairs of escalantes I've worn, it's def upwards of 10-and I still really like the shoe. It felt kind of tight for about 5 runs, but now that I've put over 100 miles on them, I want another pair, so I can alternate. I still have 2 pairs of the 1.5s in rotation, and switch between the different models regularly and don't really notice that much of a difference. Great shoe!
