An official collection of vintage, nostalgic tees and face masks - inspired by the unforgettable U.S. Presidential campaign of iconic Hustler Magazine founder Larry Flynt.
HUSTLER FOUNDER LARRY FLYNT RAN FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
For decades, Larry Flynt has been a provocateur, self-made entrepreneur, and CEO shepherding Hustler Magazine, one of the most recognized media brands in the world. Larry Flynt is also a spirited libertarian, advocating free speech and thought to the broadest of interpretations. If you think it, you can say it. If you say it, you can print it.
In the early 1980s, Larry Flynt ran for President of the United States. He entered the New Hampshire primary with a populist message: to remove the repressive hand of government (which he derided as a ruling class); limit congressional terms; and reform health, education and welfare.
Some ideas were unrealistic. Mr. Flynt wanted unilateral rights to fire and hire the Vice-President. Anyone serving in the military would be exempt from taxes. And “Screw” Magazine editor Al Goldstein would replace Chief Justice Warren Burger to lead the Supreme Court.
But, Larry Flynt took “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” at face value. He campaigned to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment in all 50 states. He still does. Mr. Flynt wanted a government by constitution, not tradition. He still does.
His message still rings true. And to be fair: the campaign merchandise was really fun. Now it’s back. Wear it, pin it, stick it, and cover your nose and mouth in public areas. Just never forget to say what’s on your mind. Because that’s how all change begins.
