Liked Better Than The Original

My 3-yr old daughter loves the original Peter Pan. It's one of the videos she never gets tired of, so we had to get this one as soon as it was released. Personally I'm not crazy about the first one. It's ok but I'd give it like 3-stars. However, I thought that this sequel was wonderful. The plot is more substantive than the original and I think they did a phenomenal job of staying true to the original, both with the plot and voice talents, considering that this was made around forty to fifty years later! Note that my 5-star review is simply based on the movie itself. As far as the dvd goes it's pretty lackluster if you're wanting a lot of bells and whistles. The deleted scenes are extremely short and not that interesting and not fully animated, so you're primarily seeing storyboarding and rough animation. There are three shorts for Disney's new computer animated franchise built around Tinker Bell but they are each extremely short, like just a minute or two. And there's an interactive point-and-click game built in but most kids would be bored senseless by it in this day and age of high-tech computer games. If there's a running commentary I didn't notice but it's not like my 3-yr old would enjoy that anyway. Like most Disney products this movie is overpriced. (We paid $20.) Still, I'm sure we'll get out money's worth out of this particular video.

Movie

My daughter wanted this movie for Christmas.  She has watched it at least 4 times since getting it.  It works for me.
