#1 Deck Premium Semi-Transparent Wood Stain for Decks, Fences, Siding - 1 Gallon Dark Walnut

Product arrived quickly- and in good shape- the stain looks great on our refinished deck- the deck was rough, real rough- had previously stained with a SOLID stain- big mistake! had to strip it all down to the wood which wasn't easy- had to sand it which wasn't too bad, but which left marks, but deck is old so we didn't sand to perfection- we were nervous about 2 different lightness areas, one that gets shade mostly, and one that got sun directly most of day- the sun area was much much lighter (and the previous solid stain came off much easier in this area) than the shaded area- the stain didn't come out of the wood as easily in shaded area, so it was darker than sun area. But we went ahead and applied the new semi solid %231 Deck Stain, and it looks fantastic with only a slight difference in lightness between the two areas now- can hardly tell the difference now- Stain covered wonderfully (although not perfectly- some areas it sank in more it seems and left the wood a bit lighter in those areas even after 2 coats, and a few very small areas had a high gloss sheen to it for some reason- We are not going to worry about it as deck is old, and the main things was to just get stain and protection on the deck before winter- mission accomplished, and it really does look great, even with the minor differences in lightness) Now, the application process was a bit daunting as we had to get second coat on within 20 minutes of the first one- and it wasn't easy gettign under the railings and guard slats, but we kept at it and things turned out well- it was a little hard gettign the large brush on a pole under the railing, but not impossible, and we worried it might puddle up and cause overlap marks, but i think we applied it fast enough that the overlap marks didn't happen- (or at least weren't too noticeable) All in all, we are pleased so far with the product- hopefully it winters well with the snow and ice

Used this product (%231 Deck Premium Semi-Transparent stain) on my wood fence last year. I have board -on-board so it was very tedious to apply by small roller and brush but using a pump-up sprayer was too wasteful. Maybe a more expensive sprayer would be more precise with less waste. My fence is at least 30 years old (pressure treated wood) and all I did was clean it with water and a cheap pressure washer. A year later it still looks like a new fence. Very happy at this point. I just had to buy a little more to finish up this year. Current photos attached (after an all night rain).
