This product has been highly effective on carpenter ants. A pinch of granules ( 1/8 teaspoon) is all that's needed in selected spots that are along the ant trails. It is important that children and pets be prevented from touching or ingesting. I hide the bait behind a plank of wood leaning against the outside foundation. The theory is that once the queen has died, the rest of the colony has no purpose and abandons the nest to eventually die from starvation.
