Flimsy mount design.
Mounted both of them on 4”x4” vinyl fence post caps. There is no adapter provided, so I took the 3” pole mount adapter and bored three holes diagonally inward through the top of the gabled cap and secured with stout machine screws and washers at the locknuts terminating inside the cap. I also used wood setscrews to keep the stalk in place. Finally, the three sappy ¾” plastic “screws” that join the top and bottom would NEVER hold up to a tropical storm (or worse) here in Florida. Those I replaced with 1” machine screws and a locknut. All screws and nuts are stainless. I am impressed with the white ABS plastic material. My old pot metal ones were top heavy as well as peeling paint from the salt air. I'm glad these were on sale.
