Horrible spotting

I swear this faucet shows every drop of water that's ever hit it. And the instructions say to clean it with a damp cloth only. Which isn't remotely up to the task of removing all those water spots. I've only had mine for a month and it looks like it's been used for years. Plus, the drain handle thingy looks fiddly and refuses to sit straight forward. I. Going to be replacing it asap.
