Protect and Beautify Your Project’s Wiring Wiring, be it a street rod or a race car, can be a tough project for the average enthusiast. From adding in an aftermarket ignition box to rewiring a complete vehicle, you need to understand things such as wire gauge, circuit protection, ensuring you have solid grounds, and more, for your electrical system to provide what you ask of it. Once you have completed your wiring project and everything works know the job is not quite complete until you have done something to protect and secure all that new wiring. Original factory wiring was often covered with a woven cloth wire loom or adhesive-backed harness tape. Later model cars moved to plastic wire cover or split wire loom that may or may not have been completely wrapped in harness tape. The issue with many of these original methods of protecting and securing the harness wire bundles either required installation as the harness was being created and terminated, or completely seals the harness routing, making changes or upgrades to the wiring nearly impossible without cutting into or damaging the wire wrap in some manner. Created with You in Mind When we created our braided cloth wire looms we wanted our product to be easy to use, have high wear characteristics, be able to bend and curve gently for wire routing, and above all be affordable. Utilizing an automotive grade nylon for our braided wire loom ensures it can stand up to the heat of your engine compartment and protect your wiring from said heat as well as abrasions, while looking great doing it. The braided loom provides expansion to fit varying wire diameters, always looking its best and taking up the least space required. No fancy colors here, just a nice minimalist look in black; and if Johnny Cash has proved anything, black goes with everything. We have also crafted a braided nylon version as well for those that prefer that look for their wiring project. No Matter the Wiring, We Can Protect It Our cloth braided wire loom master kit includes a generous length of each of our four available sizes, heat shrink tubing for ends/splices, and zip ties to secure your wiring, providing plenty of wire cover material for your wiring, vacuum lines, brake lines, or any other component you can wrap our braided nylon wire loom around. The diameter provides an overlap at the split opening, which retains any wire you place in it without the new need for tie wraps or tape. Installation is easy and can be performed on the wiring before installation into the vehicle or directly onto existing vehicle wiring and hoses/lines for a clean and professional look. Cutting our braided wire loom to length can be accomplished with standard scissors (we highly recommend melting the bare ends or using shrink wrap) or a heated tool such as a hot wire knife or even a soldering iron with a cutting tip installed. Furthermore, if you add electrical equipment to your vehicle down the road it is quite easy to run the new wiring within by simply pushing it into the wire sleeve opening
