Favorite grass seed
Have been using Pennington Smart Seed products for at least 10 years and the Ohio State mix for most of that time. Absolutely love it. The volume of seed in the bag is high because the fertilizer is just a very thin coating on the seeds, not a thick coating like other products. Lawn is super green and soft. Germination is quick and reliable. One time I even sowed grass in late October, had an unusually cold November, and a warm week in December. As soon as the ground got to 50 degrees, the seeds all popped up and survived the winter. FWIW, I generally dont even use straw, just water it every day to keep the ground moist. I use for fresh planting as well as overseeding.

Such a unique product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this grass seed especially formulated to grow and thrive in Ohio. It's sold in such convenient small bags like this and the bag is full all the way to the top with seed. The perfect size for bare spots throughout your lawn. Pennington Grass Seed Smart Seed Ohio State Mix So easy to use simply put down some good planting soil sprinkle on top sprinkle a little more planting soil and then a little bit more seed on top mix it in lightly and keep it watered till it starts sprouting.. I love the unique turquoise color of this grass seed It's very easy to see when you're trying to make sure you have it evenly spread.
