It's waterproof! Which I did not know, that makes it windproof as well. It's midweight and I wear a fleece jacket underneath at 30 degrees. I am 5'7" and 235 and purchased a size 22 by the size chart. My measurements are 50-42-50. That said I should have gone up to a size 24, maybe even 26. While it fits me perfectly and is comfortable and I can still wear a fleece under it... BUT when you sit down, your legs are no longer covered. You have a choice of unzipping the sides and covering your lap, leaving the sides of your legs exposed, or zipping the sides and having most of your knees and upper legs exposed. It is not cut as an A, but straight and that's a problem. Also if you get your exact size and use the snaps instead of the zipper, the snaps will come undone when you sit down. I love the snaps and zipper, giving you a choice. It's a nice coat, almost like pvc in a way. It makes a little noise, but it's not annoying. It hits me mid calf at my height. The lining isn't fuzzy but is surprisingly warm quite quick. It could be used as a rain coat, it dries fast as well. The hood is huge! You can wear a beanie or have a giant 1960's hairdo with this baby! Or be an alien! It snaps right under your chin and I like that, but I highly recommend a scarf. The pockets are nice and deep and snap closed, but there are only two, no inside pockets. My only real complaint is that this one has no sleeve cuffs. I will be sewing some into the sleeves. While the sleeves are long enough, without cuffs you get a gap between your gloves and your wrist, it's super annoying when it's cold. I really like it. It's my every day "I don't care if it gets dirty", around home coat. It's a no frills coat.
