Everyone as children have an inbred fear of darkness and what lies therein. Most of us outgrow this fear once we realize that there is nothing to fear . . . Most of us are luckier than we think. But there are a few who continue to see the monsters watching us, and these people are the ones the monsters have an interest in. The Shadows, which lie beyond our realm of reality, are strange, abstract, and by all moral standards, evil. Their objectives and thoughts are unknown, and their existence as a whole is questionable.
