6847 Black FR Balaclava Face Mask – NFPA 70E / NFPA 2112

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this balaclava, much more so than the other FR rated ones I have used at work. The split hood design allows for easier separation, making it less of a pain to pull it down under your chin when you need it off of your face. Others I have used without that feature squeeze my face when I try to do that. The material of the 6847 is soft and not bulky (which is mandatory under a hardhat), but still provides protection from the cold. I was glad to get my hands on this one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two of these balaclavas, I prefer this one over the fleece version because it fits snug on my face and head which is very well appreciated in conjunction with my Skullerz hard hat. My only recommendation is, to make the item a two piece (detachable) design, offering the option to wear the hat or the mask. One other thing I noticed, is that my anti-fog skullerz Dagr occasionally fog up when I wear either of the balaclavas. The end result, is that the thermal protection stands and delivers. Nothing beats a toasty head, feet, and hands in the winter. I look forward to seeing socks and gloves made by Ergodyne.
