Post-op Protection
After a surgical foot procedure I have 3 wires protruding from the ends of my toes that go into the bones. The post-op boot given offers no protection to this vulnerable area and seemed a "set-up" for pain and damage. I was delighted to find this gadget at Walmart.com. The medical folks seeing me post-operatively had not seen this before and were impressed with the protection provided. The only drawback is that the top part is curved downward on the foot. It pressed into the bandaging over an incision and sutures and was uncomfortable for wear with the initial bandaging. Once the bandaging was changed to less gauze and bulkiness at the top of the foot, it was not a problem. Don't know if this is what the Toe Guard was designed for, but with a tweak in the design over the top of the foot, it would be a total winner.
