if you are on a hill with a steep grade the toe will sweat and the thing can slip off but I have not found anything better and its been protecting the toe. For people thinking of having a toenail removed you should ask questions about the effect the missing nail can have because the nailbed keeps the big to from bending at the joint when you arent watching which happens to me because I cannot feel my feet on the outside. Anyway they are rugged and just slip it back on if you are doing heavy work on a slope. no problems on the flats but my yard in places you have what I call controlled descent where you cannot stop because you are sliding. just the road is 45 degrees but the bank that runs down it goes about 15 feet up at a minimum of 60 degrees. originally a hole wore through the end of the toe and it seeped for about a week before I got in position to protect it.
